YouTube ’s Videos in Google Results

VentureBeat says that the first step towards the integration of YouTube into its father’s war machine has been put in place: Google search is returning video results for user keywords and these videos are taken from YouTube. Simply click on the Video tab.

This functionality is not ready for the italian version, but it can be seen in the US one:

Users are even invited to submit their own videos, after accepting a terms of use agreement and with a threshold of 100mb for each video.

Are they being stored to Google Video or Youtube? VentureBeat reports the company’s statement:

…YouTube, as we’ve stated previously, will remain an independent subsidiary of Google, and will continue to operate separately. Google will support YouTube by providing access to search and monetization platforms and, where/when YouTube launches internationally, to international resources. YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen and the rest of the YouTube team will continue to innovate exciting new ways for people to “broadcast themselves.”

Ultimately, we envision most user-generated and premium video content being hosted on YouTube so that it can further enhance the YouTube experience. We also envision YouTube benefiting from future Google Video innovations — especially those involving video search, monetization and distribution…

So these videos should become part of the YouTube’s archive and I suspect the integration will soon get stronger.
